Description:
One of the most beautiful and tolerant philodendrons is probably the rare Philodendron Jose Buono. This breathtaking climbing philodendron tolerates a lot, which makes it an excellent houseplant. Like most philodendrons, it originally climbs against trees. That is also where the name philodendron comes from; philo means 'to love' in Latin and dendron means 'tree' in Latin. However, this plant is extremely rare and is an eye-catcher in your home!
The origin of this plant is unknown. It is not even known whether the Jose Buono was bred this way or that it is a crossbreed. The philodendron Jose Buono has enormous leaves that develop into variegations that are attached to pink stems. The combination of the pink, green and golden variegation makes this a gem to behold.
The philodendron Jose Buono does not need much water, sunlight or fertilisation. Nevertheless, in winter, this plant would like to be in a place where it is warmer than 12°C. A humidity of around 30% is really the minimum this plant can tolerate.
As soil, it is best to use a mix of soil and perlite to create an airy mix. Since Philodendrons thrive best in an airy mixture, it is important that the top layer of soil dries out before watering is started again.
