Monstera Deliciosa is originally from tropical forests in the south of Mexico to the south of Panama. In nature, this plant grows high in the leaf roof of the rainforest. In the house the Monstera rarely gets flowers, but in the tropics there will be white, chalical flowers. There are then also edible fruits to the plant, which must ripen for a year. The fruits would taste to a mixture of banana and pineapple, hence the name: Deliciosa.

The Monstera is also called the hole plant. This refers to the holes or slits in the leaves. Please note that the plant only develops holes in its adult leaves!
