Monstera plants

These beautiful tropical plants have gained enormous popularity in recent years and Monstera plants can now be found in many living rooms. In our Plantique webshop we offer various exclusive Monsteras. Light requirement

Because this is a tropical plant, the Monstera feels most comfortable in bright, indirect sunlight which mimics its natural surroundings as closely as possible. Although the plant can thrive in low light, it will grow faster in a bright spot. Do not place the plant in full sunlight, however, as that could damage it.

Temperature

The tropical Monstera likes warm temperatures. Nevertheless, they can also be kept at normal room temperatures. Sudden drops in temperature are not recommended. This can shock the plant. Therefore, do not place a Monstera in a Location where it will be exposed to cold draughts.

Waterering

Monsteras prefer a substrate that is constantly slightly moist. As soon as the top 2 centimetres of soil are dry, it is time to water this plant. By the way, Monsteras do not like soggy soil. They are sensitive to too much water, so you run the risk of over-watering and root rot. How much water you need to give your Monstera depends on temperature, humidity and the substrate in which you have planted it. During the growth period the need for water will be greater than during the inactive period.

Humidity

Monsteras like high humidity. It is therefore also possible to place your Monstera in the bathroom, as long as it can receive sufficient light can receive. To increase humidity, you can consider spraying the plant. A humidifier could also be used to maintain or enlarge the humiditythere. To increase humidity you might consider watering the plant.
