The Philodendron White Knight is a fantastically rare species that is native to tropical rainforests in South America. The White Knight distinguishes itself from its colleagues (the White Princess and the White Wizard), with its climbing stems that are coloured dark purple and white. In addition, the White Knight has beautiful green and pointed leaves with the characteristic white variegated spots. When compared to its peers, it is surely the most striking to encounter.
It is therefore a climbing plant, which in the wild has been able to reach heights of up to 3 metres. To ensure good growth, it is therefore important that the plant remains healthy. In order to keep such a beautiful Philodendron indoors, it is important to consider what the plant needs.
This beautiful Philodendron grows best in a slightly moist soil that is permeable to water and air. Like most Philodendrons, it does not like wet soil at all, so it is important to choose a potting soil mix with good drainage in order to prevent root rot.
This impressive Philodendron likes tropical temperatures and a relatively high humidity. Like most Philodendrons, the temperature should be between 18°C and 25°C and the humidity certainly above 60%.
To grow well, this beauty needs a lot of light, but never place a Philodendron in direct sunlight. The white parts in a plant are extra sensitive and can quickly burn when placed in direct sunlight.
Extra nutrition can be added during the growing season, to promote faster growth.
